We are conducting listen-to-understand sessions across Arizona to learn what issues are affecting Arizonans on a day-to-day basis, and sharing that feedback with our candidates and partner organizations.

Who We Are
Jacob George
Executive Director + Chair
Jacob George is dedicated to ensuring working-class representation. He is currently a student at Arizona State University and a Phoenix-area resident. Jacob serves on the Balsz Elementary School Board, and his experience running numerous Democratic campaigns and working with nonprofit initiatives will help propel Unity Rising across Arizona. As the founder of Unity Rising, he is committed to amplifying the voices of working Arizonans and supporting candidates dedicated to common-sense change. With the critical 2026 election approaching, Jacob believes in the power of grassroots action to shape a future that works for everyone.
Jamel Jones
Chief of Staff + Treasurer
Jamel is a born and raised Wisconsinite with an extensive background in retail sales management. Coming from a working class home and raised by a single mother, Jamel knows first-hand the pressures of economic insecurity and living paycheck to paycheck. Today, Jamel is an organizer because he believes that everyone deserves a helping hand up. Jamel is well-positioned to champion and support Unity Rising's work in Arizona as the 2026 cycle grows closer. He joined the Unity Rising team to work for Arizona because he knows that AZ will be the most critical battleground state in 2026 and it's all hands on deck to protect the progress made over the past 8 years.
Maia Whitt
Communications Director
Maia Whitt is an Arizona native and first-generation American with a deep love for her home state. She is passionate about empowering communities and ensuring that leaders address the challenges Arizonans face every day. Maia knows that future success for Democrats depends on our ability to break through with working Arizonans. With a background in social media management and content creation, Maia is dedicated to uplifting the voices of those who often go unheard. Through her work with Unity Rising, Maia is committed to building a brighter future where every Arizonan has the opportunity to thrive.
Christian Zuccarelli
Development Director
Christian Zuccarelli, an Illinois native, moved to Arizona in 2023 with the goal of making a meaningful impact in a true swing state. He graduated from Lindenwood University in St. Charles, MO, in 2022 and soon discovered his passion for driving meaningful change. With nearly four years of experience in Democratic politics, Christian is a dedicated and hardworking professional committed to advancing progressive values. He joined Unity Rising with the belief that for Democrats to win, they must better represent the working class of Arizona and the nation.
